A young man gears up to make a name for himself in the information technology industry only to be set back by news that the girl he dated in school is getting married. As he nurses his broken heart, he discovers a colleague is in love with him.
STORYLINE
On a cold winter night, Xianyu comes across a girl lying on the streets, drunk. Fearing for her safety, he takes her back to his place. When he wakes up the next morning, she is gone.
At his new workplace, Xianyu meets the girl again and learns her name is Yuanying. Her dream is to become the anchorwoman of a news programme. Soon after, Xianyu runs into Caiji, a former girlfriend.
Caiji, who had emigrated to the States is back to run an art gallery. Xianyu is taken aback to learn she is marrying Xiangmin, a senior in their former school.
Xianyu hopes to win Caiji over. Meanwhile, Yuanying falls for Xianyu. She makes her feelings known but Xianyu keeps his distance. However, he soon finds himself drawn to her.
Caiji is in love with Xiangmin but finds it hard to forget Xianyu. Xiangmin finds out they used to date. He becomes jealous and suspects they are having an affair.
Xianyu can no longer suppress his love for Caiji. On the day the latter gets engaged to Xiangmin. Xianyu comes clean about his feelings.
Yuanying feels particularly good on Christmas Day and decides to accept Xianyu¡¯s love. She shows up at his place only to find Caiji there as well. When problems surface at her office, she becomes unsettled. She decides to quit her job and return to her hometown in Jiangling.
Meanwhile, Xiangmin is convinced Caiji and Xianyu are not merely friends. Depressed, he goes to see his former girlfriend, Zhiying.
Xianyu and Donghao decide to travel to Jiangling to persuade Yuanying to return to Seoul. Caiji tags along.
After much difficulty, Xianyu manages to talk Yuanying around. She goes back to her old job and prepares to audition for an anchorwoman position.
Xianyu and Yuanying start seeing each other. Donghao is upset. He blunders at work and finally tells Xianyu what is bothering him.
In truth, Xianyu is unable to forget Caiji. He is reluctant to publicise his relationship with Yuanying, which upsets her.
Xianyu see Xiangmin with Zhiying. He asks about Caiji. Meanwhile, Caiji decides to part with Xiangmin and return to the States.
Xiangmin asks Xianyu to persuade Caiji to stay. He goes to meet Caiji without telling Yuanying. Caiji becomes emotional and hugs him. She later leaves him a phone message, asking him if he still loves her.
Yuanying overhears the message and is convinced Xianyu has rekindled his feelings for Caiji. She confront him.
Xianyu and Caiji¡¯s feelings for each other are rekindled. Donghao, who is in love with Yuanying, disapproves. Xiangmin pleads with Xianyu to return Caiji to him and he eventually does.
Heartbroken, Caiji returns to the States. A depressed Yuanying also pulls herself together. With Qingzhu¡¯s help, she prepares for the final round of auditions.
Yuanying finally realises her dream of working in the TV news department. She also patches up with Xianyu.
Xianyu goes for a medical checkup with Yuangying, who is diagnosed with leukaemia. She decides to call off their relationship.
Xianyu quits his job to take care of Yuanying. They hold a cosy wedding. Aware she does not have much longer to live, Yuanying asks Xianyu to take her on a trip.
Xiangmin realises his folly when Xianyu assures him he loves only Yuanying. He takes Xianyu¡¯s advice and goes back to Caiji.
